Head:
Inuyasha has silver long hair along with fluffy dog ears - the insides being a pinkish color. The hair comes down to probably below his knees. His eyes are gold and he has long bangs going down the sides of his face. He has black eyebrows which must portray the human side of him since he’s a half demon. Inside his mouth he has fangs just like any dog would. His head is normal sized, but his hair dominates it so it might look smaller in comparison depending on how you look at it. Around his neck he has enchanted necklace that can make him drop at a moment’s notice if Kagome ever says sit.

Upper Body:
His upper body beneath the clothes is pretty toned. He doesn’t have any scars thanks to his healing abilities. He has clawish nails His outfit is named the Robe of the Fire Rat, which provides more protection than any normal hakama. It has a strong resistance to fire as well. The robe is baggy and red with slits where the sleeves meet the upper arms separating the arms from the main part of the outfit. Underneath that, he wears a badge to creamish top.

Lower Body:
Just like his hands, his feet also have sharp nails. He doesn't wear shoes or any type of footwear. He also has red pants to match the Robe of the Fire Rat. Along his waist line he carries the sheath for his Tessaiga. The sheath itself is a black color with a rusted gold hilt. His pants are just as baggy.
Point in Canon:
Just before the final showdown with Naraku

Personality:

Main Personality
Inuyasha summed up equals a rash, easily flustered, and innerly caring half-demon who's main focus of revenge slightly alters because of his growing relationship with Kagome Higurashi and the others around him.

Before his 50 years of being sealed by Kikyo's arrow, he was distant due to being shunned and disliked by humans and demons alike. Because of his mother, his personality balanced out into that of a confused and saddened child. Once his mother died, he had only himself to fend for. As a result he grew into a self-conscious half-demon that was only bent on becoming stronger and in turn, to become a full-fledged demon.

He met Kikyou upon his first attempts to swipe the Sacred Jewel from the shrine where it rested, only to be foiled by the said woman. As a priestess, it was her duty to destroy any demon who dared try to steal the jewel. But for one reason or another she spared Inuyasha. He attempted to steal the jewel many more times failing again and again. Slowly his relationship with the priestess, or curiosity at the start, grew. A few talks with warm fuzzy feelings later, he began to have feelings for Kikyo.

Just when he things took a turn for the best they turned worse. Naraku, a half-demon like Inuyasha on a completely different scale (for lack of a better word), inflicted a fatal wound to Kikyo under the guise of Inuyasha. Elsewhere, Naraku pretended to be Kikyo and shoot an arrow at Inuyasha along with some mentally damaging words thus creating the rift of betrayal between the two. It's unclear how things would of been resolved were Inuyasha not sealed to a tree by an arrow and Kikyo not dying, but it ends up as a tragic fate for both.

Inuyasha is later woke up by Kagome, Kikyo's reincarnation. He doesn't wake up in the best mood. He's ready to kill whatever gets in his way of his goal - taking the Sacred Jewel. Things start off with a lot of hostility between Inuyasha and Kagome. At the stat of their love/hate acquaintanceship, they mostly argue and put up with each other to search for the Sacred Jewel shards, which are pieces of the Sacred Jewel Kagome broke due to unbelievable reasons. In short, Inuyasha doesn't have much trust for her or anyone at that point and only cares for himself. He comes off as cold more than less during this arc.

As time passes he starts to show the more gentle, caring, and loyal side of himself. Most of these sides appear only towards Kagome, but spread on to the other members of their group as time goes on. He mostly shows an older brother/little brother love to Shippo because he picks on him a lot of the time which helps identify his quality of tough love. His sympathetic side shows when learning about Miroku and Sango's own tragedies. These only increase his drive to defeat Naraku.

On a few occasions, Inuyasha shows off his competitive side shown through spats with Koga for Kagome's love (which is more just jealousy when Kagome's nice to Koga), or battles against his brother, which were once spiteful due to their hatred of each other. There are also a few occasions where he shows a sense of rivalry in battles. (ex. Bankotsu)

An interesting part of his character make up is what he thinks about the past. Towards the start of the series, he obviously has regrets but likes to show he couldn't care less about it. Whenever his father is mentioned, he leaves it as a note of the past and that's all. But moving on towards the later part of the series, his feelings get mixed up with Kikyo again making a rift between Inuyasha's present and past. Torn between the two, he causes Kagome a bit of grief on occasion.

He also has a transition period from obnoxious guy to a more mature person with a strong sense of justice. A lot of times he'll act like helping people is a bother, but tends to be the first to lift a hand to help. In a fashion he's just a good guy pretending to be the cool, less caring type of person. That or he's just reluctant to give off the impression that he's a softie.

Good, Bad, and Other Habits
Flustered: Inuyasha must be one of the easiest characters to fluster all time. He gets flustered by teasing. Enemies can fluster him with insults. Shoot, even Shippo can get under his skin. Basically tons of things fluster him. But be careful, he might strike back if you do.

Ear Twitching: It's not so much a habit on a constant basis. Sometimes his ears will twitch when someone brings them up or when he hears something far away. It's more other people's habits to inquire about the ears.

Scent Trailing: This is also something not done on a constant basis, but is done more than not. He'll sniff on the ground like a dog if he's really trying hard to find a scent.

Sarcasm: Oh is he sarcastic at times. He'll take any chance he gets to use it which might make people think he's a bit of a smarta**, which he might be at times.

Being a Loner: He does this more in the beginning of the series than towards the part I'm plucking him from, but he likes to stay up in trees when the group splits up most of the time.

Cursing: Whenever he gets angry and sometimes flustered, he'll spout off a few curse words here and there. He won't yell out the f-bomb constantly or anything. Just your usual few words.

Brooding: There are times where Inuyasha will just brood and brood for something that had recently happened. When he gets in these funks, it takes a while to get him out of it.

Hobbies
Demon Slaying: It's not so much of a hobby as a job since he does it to help people a lot. But he's never been adverse to fighting an enemy, so I guess it counts as a hobby.

Eating Instant Noodles: He loves when Kagome brings these back. If he could, he'd probably eat them all the time. He also likes almost any other food Kagome brings back.

Fears
Protecting Allies: He fears he won't be strong enough to protect his friends. He didn't have any when he was growing up, so losing friends now wouldn't set well with him.

Sit Command: He cringes each time Kagome prepares to make him sit. Sango once tried to no avail, but it scared Inuyasha witless.

Harming Allies: Sometimes Inuyasha ends up going full demon mode on special circumstances and fears he might hurt his allies one day as a result of that.

Important Character Relationship Summaries:

Kagome - Lover:
Inuaysha's relationship with her started out pretty rocky. They couldn't stand each other for the most part. But as time went on they began to become closer and eventually fell in love with each other. (More details in the history section).

Miroku - Friend:
First off he saw Miroku as nothing but a sneaky letch who did whatever it took to get a free house and board. As time went on he saw the deeper parts of Miroku, including the fear of his wind tunnel. Miroku is the closest guy friend he has; Koga can be an argument, but Inuyasha is with Miroku way more than he is with Koga. Though he and Miroku aren't like close brother's. More like good friends.

Sango - Friend:
One word that sums up Inuyasha's feelings about Sango is respect. He respects her strength, both inner and outer, and respects her drive to defeat Naraku. One thing that can be noted is Inuyasha at least views her as a not half bad looking woman imo. In one of the episodes, Sango gets drunk and presses herself on Inuyasha. He gets pretty skittish and doesn't even bother to push her away. He just kinda leans back when he could of hopped away.

Shippo - Friend:
Throughout the series, Inuyasha and Shippo have an older brother to younger brother relationship. Shippo usually starts it with a witty remark, Inuyasha will pick on him, and Kagome will stop Inuyasha. Despite the antics between the two, it's easy to tell how much Inuyasha cares for the kid. These are usually apparent in the few episodes that focus on Shippo.

Koga - Rival:
At the start, Inuyasha and Koga can't stand each other, but their quarrels soon turn into a rivalry type thing. Towards the final battles, you could call their interactions border line friendship. But with the way they quarrel they could be close to brothers.

Kikyo - Former Lover:
As Inuyasha's former lover, his feelings for her still linger. Even after she does some questionable things, Inuyasha always takes up for her when the group questions her actions. The feelings of the past and present (Kikyo and Kagome) cause some inner conflict for Inuyasha, but he says he wanted to always protect Kikyo after her death.

Sesshomaru - Brother:
From the start, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru hated each other with a passion, but probably for different reasons. Despite always being at each others throats and fighting throughout the series, a faint respect is born between the two. They even fight together once against some cat demons who want them dead based on who their father is. While they might not get along like the best brothers, they at least acknowledge each other towards the end of the series.

Kagome's Family:
Kagome's Mom - Inuyasha's relationship with her is basically that of a mother's affection. The first time they meet she likes his ears. Through later transactions, it's apparent to see how much she trust Inuyasha with her daughter.

Sota - When Inuyasha first came to the present time, Sota said Inuyasha was his new hero. After that, Inuyasha coming to the present basically means more fun for Sota. Inuyasha just becomes like an older brother figure to Sota, but on a different level than that of Shippo's (no picking on usually). Sota even ask him for man talk one time.

Grandpa - This relationship is probably one of the funnier ones. When they first meet, Grandpa tries to purify Inuyasha or something. Towards the later part of the series, he ends up using Inuyasha as a free hand around the place. He accepts Inuyasha and Kagome's relationship just like Kagome's mom.

Izayoi - Mother:
When Inuyasha was a kid, she was the only person in the world he could depend on. His relationship with his mother is deep even after her death. When Sesshomaru, earlier on, claims to have revived her, he instantly worries for her safety and even falls into the trap believing that was his real mother. Not much is known beyond Inuyasha's total affection for her. No one else, humans and demons liked him, so all he had was her. She was his world.

Great Dog Demon - Father:
Inuyasha doesn't really show an care about who his father was or how great he used to be. Whether that's due to him not being around in his life is up for grabs. As the story goes on, Inuyasha starts having at least a little respect for who his father was and the things he left behind. Mostly Inuyasha learns these things from Totosai and Myoga. Beyond that, Inuyasha doesn't show much concern over wondering who his father was.

Totosai - Grandfather like Figure:
He views Totosai as someone who can give him information on his sword. He tends to hit him a lot because Totosai tends to do things that irritate Inuyasha. But Inuyasha protects him from Sesshomaru on occasion, so he at least wants the man to live.

Myoga - Grandfather like Figure:
Not much to this except Inuyasha thinks and knows Myoga is a coward. Though he still sees the flea as an elder figure he can talk to.

Kaede - Grandmother like Figure:
Early on in the series he views her as an old bat, but she actually warms up to him the quickest of any character. Well maybe except Kagome. As Kikyo's younger sister, he genuinely ends up caring about Kaede. He did almost forget that she was lying in the forest one time where he left her, but he went back to get her back during the Yura hair problem.

History of the Character:

A Detailed typed out History (couldn't fit it on the page)

Magical Powers/Skills:

Iron Reaver Soul Stealer: Uses a claw to give a deadly slash to target.

Blades of Blood: He digs into his arm to draw blood and creates ... blades of ... blood.

Anti-Demon Barrier: This doesn't allow other demons to use the sword. It's been proven that only a human hand and arm are need, but a shard of the Sacred Jewel is needed.

Wind Scar: Creates a wave of demonic energy that rips through whatever it hits. He used it for the first time against Sesshomaru.

Backlash Wave: Inuyasha takes the demonic energy of his enemy and reverses it even stronger than it was before. It's unknown if this attack works on human aura, but it has worked on Bankotsu. He learned this after defeating Ryuukotsusei, his father's old enemy.

Adamant Barrage: His blade becomes covered in diamonds before slashing out adamant/diamond shards at the enemy. This attack his high barrier and shield piercing abilities. He learned this after proving to Housenki that protecting his friends was more important than gaining power.

Demon Energy Cutting: This makes Inuyasha cut through the enemies demonic aura which can affect the target since demonic energy is basically a part of demons. It's not known if it works on anything else other than demonic energy. He obtained this ability by destroying the sword Dakki and mastered it by following the method Totosai told him to follow.

Meido Zangetsuha: He can create a pathway to hell. He's done so to draw in demons and also to go into hell himself.  He got this ability when he broke the Tenseiga.

Cutting Universe Zangetsuha: An inverted Meido attack which shoots out black blades that cut up a target and suck their remains into black holes leading to hell. This is just the original Meido converted into blades because of the nature of Inuyasha's sword.

Weapons:

Tessaiga:
His father's keepsake passed down to him that gives him the power to combat demons way stronger than normal class. Sesshomaru wants it throughout the whole series and takes it once, but Inuyasha always manages to get it back.

The Tessaiga has a mind of its own. It can't talk or anything but it is able to tell Inuyasha things usually through pulsations or how it reacts. If Inuyasha is about to do something it disagrees with, it won't transform. On other occasions, it protects him when he can't protect himself like putting up small barriers at times.

Throughout the story, the Tessaiga gets stronger when Inuyasha reaches a new resolve or increases his abilities. An example of the former would be his Adamant Barrage, which is actually the best example of that. The Tessaiga was originally meant to absorb Sesshomaru's Tenseiga so it could reach its full potential. The purpose of giving it to Inuyasha was so Inuyasha could protect himself and possibly gain compassion for humans since he disliked by them at a young age.

The sword starts off as a old rusted katana, but when it transforms it becomes a large blade with a fluff covering the hilt if there's a hilt to begin with, but one can only assume.

Personal LJ Sample:
Where the hell am I? Kagome...! Mirkou, Sango, Shippo! ... Got da** it, is Naraku behind this?!

Third-Person Sample:

Inuyasha was dashing through the forest at top speed. It had been a while since Kagome and Sango left for whatever they were planning, and he made up an excuse to go check on them. Something about not being able to stand Miroku's talk about women. He couldn't remember.

He hopped on a few tree branches before landing back on the ground. Ideas of what could potentially be happening crossed his mind leaving a small pit of fear in his gut. The girls should of been back at least twenty minutes ago. Not that he could tell time or anything. Just dog instincts or something. Kagome's scent caught his nose and he turned sharply bolting towards where the smell was coming from.

It was faint... he could smell water near by and a bit of steam. For whatever reason, his brain wasn't focusing at the moment on anything but the safety of Kagome ... and Sango too, but she was a demon slayer, so less worrying in that respect.

He began to slow down to a stop upon reaching a field of steam. It smacked him in the face a bit causing his eyes to squint. Normally he'd yell out 'Kagome!' but he didn't smell anything out of the ordinary. He could smell Kagome and Sango, he even heard them talking about something he wasn't paying much mind to. He took a step and ... fell right into the water.

After a few seconds his head rises from the water mumbling about how he couldn't of noticed this before. He blamed it on Miroku for whatever reason. It was then he realized where he was exactly. He was in a hot spring ... a hot spring with Kagome and Sango ... who probably just heard that giant splash based on the 'What was that?!' Kagome just yelled out. Now ... how was he going to get out of this?

"Uh oh ... I just had to worry, didn't I?"

He let his head sink into the water waiting for his impending doom.
