Bambi!

You'd think there'd be less wildlife in "the booming west side" of the capitol than there was on the edge of the small town in the middle of the national park, but it's increasingly clear every day that it's the other way around. I'm really enjoying it, even though nothing beats my favorites, the ground hogs.

I've been a good boy today (list of chores coming up). Got up and found a job listing of interest, wrote a resume for it and applied before I even so much as had breakfast or showered. All the while chuckling to myself at the reaction of the potential employer, had they seen me at the moment of application. What was nice and special about this, however, was that they called three hours later asking me to come to an interview. The interview is Monday, and they will make a decision either Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. It's two or three identical position, the lady who called wasn't entirely sure. The job was posted this morning. Okay. They posted it this morning. They decide Monday. Three positions. One would think that one would have a decent chance of getting one of those three jobs. I'm a little worried they'll find me overqualified (which I am) but with the job market being what it is, aren't most people? The job is rather far from a dream job, but it involves two different companies that are both of interest, and the commute is short enough and the pay was better than I expected. So hopes are up.

I also put in another 2,000 words on my book, and MAN is it getting close to being finished. There are 11 major events in the book, and I'm now starting on the second third of the last one. I have a few things that I have to go back to add, as things developed that needed a bit of time-warp-tinkering, and then there's edits and rewrites and things, but it's still horribly exciting. 135,000 words and counting.

I have (finally) managed to place the motifs on my quilt and fuse them all into place. I tried doing the applique with the sewing machine today, and that sucked, so I guess there's a LOT of hand embroidery in my future. We'll see how that goes.

I even got a few minutes worth of mando work in before the phone started ringing.

Now it's 11PM and I'm almost as sleepy as K, so I guess I'll drag myself to bed. Three day weekend!
