Today was... Busy. BUSY, even. Especially for a couple of antisocials like us. I had to work, first of all. This kinda sucked, but not too badly. Just three hours, and since nothing much happened, I got to spend three hours catching up on stuff, so that was okay. It also meant we were in Lexington at 9 and off work and ready to go do stuff at noon. We went over to Jenny and Andy and went to eat at Chili's, which is (almost) always nice. Ended up spending something like two and a half hours on lunch, and then went to Joseph Beth Booksellers for a few minutes. We stopped at a fabric store for a minute and then dropped Jenny and Andy off at their house again and went to Jenny and Jon's wedding, just up the road. The wedding was all nice and he said yes and she said yes so that was all alright, and since we didn't know anyone we could take off after the ceremony without any guilt tripping from long lost friends and relatives, and so we were back home by 6:30 or so. Of course, being home at 6:30 meant that we had a lot of time to work on dismantling our home in preparation for carpet installation (hopefully) on Monday. I guess it's a good thing we got a decent amount of it done tonight, but it still sucks to actually have to do. I also gained a piece of knowledge of book cases that I could have done without. It is this:
If you think it's easier to move the whole book case rather than dismantling it, you are wrong and the book case will gladly self destruct to prove this to you and do you bodily harm.
Right now I'm having a Newcastle Brown or two and intend to enjoy what's left of the weekend by moving more furniture. This new carpet better bloody well be a piece of art that brings us True Joy for years or I shall have to beat it for putting us through all this trouble for it. And I'd rather beat up a carpet than move any more book cases.
