Owl to Prof.Sprout

Dear Professor Sprout,

I'm so sorry that it's taken me so long to respond to your note. Your advice on the project was really helpful. Vincent and have met a couple of times, just to start practicing the charms, and they seem to be going decently. You are absolutely right that a little encouragment goes a long way--I'll send a copy of my more detailed notes about our sessions later. I'm so glad that you think they'll be useful enough to keep for the files!

There was something else I wanted to ask you about, too. I've been hearing about this new peer mentor program, and if there are any younger students in Hufflepuff who want to do it, I would love to be a mentor. I've always enjoyed tutoring first and second years, even though I think some of them are a little scared of me at times!

Overall, things are going well for me this year. So much better than last year, there is really no comparison. I still find myself more inclined to contemplate the darker side of life than most people in our House; as much as I adore Hufflepuff, I sometimes wonder if I will ever feel truly a part of things. But perhaps I would feel that way in any House. But I'm not obsessed with such things like I was last year--Zacharias's little adventure reminded me, though, and not in a good way. I'm sure you understand.

Thanks again,

Eloise
