The middle east doesn't need peace
I've been reading this one for a few days at work, but this really made me laugh:

Okay, that seems fair. Suffice to say, Saudi woman is attacked at knife point and raped. She flees to a friend, and is then arrested for being out with a non-relative male who isn't her husband and sentanced to 90 lashes.
Okay, so I've long ago forgiven... Or more exactly, never blamed... The Saudi people for laws like that. Given their heritage and current conditions, if the worst thing they do is make a law that says woman can't walk around un-attended, I guess they are doing okay. Sure, you might say it's backwards and crazy and sexist... And yeah, it is... But I can see how, as a culture raised to not think of women as equals, they could have come to that law via a path of twisted logic.
Then, we enter bizzaro world.
The woman protests her lashes, saying she was only out with this man for saftey because she was raped by a gang of men. The judges, naturaly, up it 200 lashes.
