Some pictures of the pyramids in Giza, Cairo. Never understood why the souvenir peddlers offers miniatures of the pyramids in 3 sizes, small, medium, large, until I saw the pyramids myself. It seems that largest was built first by Qufu I think and out of deference to his father, the subsequent pharaoh built a smaller pyramid for himself and his son, built an even smaller pyramid.
Only on the smaller pyramid that we able to see the original plaster cap stone and as for the rest of the pyramids, it seems that the plaster was removed and used to build a fortress. The picture of the fortress is seen below.
The Sphinx is much smaller than I imagined and here is a naughty picture posed at the behest of the tour guide..hahahhaah.
