When I first read the description of this drama, I was like "Holy Shit!! No way in hell am I watching that kind of drama." I'm not a fan of serious, mentally traumatic dramas. I watched this drama because Nishikido Ryo was in it. In truth, this is my first Ninomiya Kazunari drama. I kind of regret that it was because I couldn't witness his amazing acting skills. Here's what I mean: I've seen Sakurai Sho in variety shows but haven't seen him act. When I watched Quiz Show 2, I was awed my his acting. If only I had a chance to know Ninomiya-san before watching this. From what I read on-line, it seems like online fans of Arashi consider Ryusei No Kizuna to represent Ninomiya-san. This was where we saw him shine. Especially the last episode. Some of you know what I'm talking about. I literally skipped a beat. I lost my breath, gasped for air and I pulled away from the screen. I was taken aback. That enough should make you want to watch this one.
Even though the description is quite gloomy, there is a fair amount of humor in this drama considering the theme. I was surprised by the overall lightness of the show when first reading about such a heavy plot. Very satisfying. Kaname Jun is in this one. Ninomiya-san, Nishikido Ryo and Kaname Jun?! Ikemen army. The acting in general was brilliant.
With most shows and mysteries, I am able to guess the ending. This show kept me guessing EVERY episode. And when I mean every episode, I mean every damn episode. I guessed so much I got tired. "Who killed them?" "Who killed them?" First you think you know, but then each episode gets more and more complex. It was really amusing. You are right with the characters when they are trying to figure it out. Once I found out, I paused the episode and took deep breaths.
This isn't a laid-back drama. You need to bring your brains watching this. You can relax and watch an episode while playing the clarinet. Seriously, you can't. So don't try.
Honestly, anything I try to type isn't sufficient. This show really touched my heart. Any show that makes me use my mind and my heart is fulfilling to watch. If you like Orthros No Inu, Liar Game, and Quiz Show 2, you'll like this one.
I tried to put off reviewing this show because I was at a loss. I don't know what I can say to make you watch this drama. I am at a loss for words. Please don't put off this drama for another day. I will never regret watching this drama.
