Bodyline Magical Trump Recon

DRESS: Wahoo, I'm done! The jsk took approximately about a week to finish to convert from OP to JSK. With very little waste, there's a little bit of scraps left over so hopefully I can manage to make a matching hair accessory from out of them. If not, Taobao, baby! XD

DETAILS: For this dress, I decided to try doing a permanent bow. It's secured in several spots on the dress and also double interfaced to keep its shape. I'm not sure how it's going to survive washing, but I guess we'll find out. ^^; Also, the loose ribbon are last minute alterations to make the design a little more cohesive but they don't look too bad.

By far, my favorite thing about the dress is the yolk. I'm a sucker for these type of designs so 75% of my dresses will have these. Gold lace, yay! Textured cotton gauze, yay! Big ol' shiny buttons, triple yay!

Thankfully the print is so busy that the fabric imperfections are invisible and only seen at certain angles. You can see it more clearly on the back side panels on the close up. I'm super happy that I had two dresses to work from as I used one pair of waist ties make up the shoulder straps. To reinforce the fabric, I've added woven interfacing on the the entire bodice for stability.

For the bottom half, I added a third layer of ruffle! I didn't quite have enough fabric for the extension, but with it layered, it's not even noticable. More gold lace borders the top of the ruffle layer and a couple of bows to bows adds accent. Did I mention I added HUGE pockets?! They're 12 inches deep and made from scrap fabric! And did I also mention it's fully lined??!! <3

BEFORE AND AFTER: Ta-dah! And there you have it--an OP converted to a JSK. I opted for no waist bow for this one and decided to use the Bodyline waistbow as a separate accessory for other black and white dresses. All in all I'm very happy with how this turned out.
