Bodyline Rabbit Duet JSK Recon

DRESS: The finished dress. :) Probably one of my more faster recons considering this was just done in two days! I've always liked this dress, particularly this color, so I'm excited to finally have this and actually fit!

DETAILS: Not a lot of external differences. The major alteration was building the bodice from scratch. You can see the added length at the bust and at the sides. I wanted to stay close to the original, so I didn't do any design changes. The back is fully shirred with corset lacing and the whole dress is lined for comfort. Bonus: the waist ties are detachable and far back enough that it makes a decent bow! XD

LINING: Completely, fully lined! I used to use costume satin to line my dresses but found that they ripped easy after regular use. On a whim, I decided to try actual static-free lining and I've never looked back, lol! Also, I used to do the lining all the way up to the seams as well. With this dress, I decided to use fabric trim at the top borders of the bodice. Wow, what a difference a couple inches of matching fabric does! Solves my problem of the lining showing through when looking at the right side of the dress! Will forever do it this way from now on!

BEFORE AND AFTER: Not a lot, which was what I was aiming for. I think I did a good job of mimicking the original except for a plus size. The skirt portion is really wonderful too...it hangs like it should and can hold a nice sized petticoat. Apparently that was a problem with the original dress even though the skirt was a rectangle...probably Bodyline was skimping on fabric and didn't put enough. :/ Also, the dress sits at normal waist instead of it being abnormally high waist due to my boobage. Huzzah for recons!
