burning bright like the naked moon
stealing away from the darkness
stealing away from the beauty surrounding her
she's both a thief and a saint
she is power
she is hope
she is both exotic and lovely
behind her veil you may find serenity
maybe even violence
but she abandoned love long before it left her
&she lives on without a past
is she hiding from time?
&she breathes in life on her own
is she hiding from God?
&she screams in silence
is she hiding from the world?

so what makes this world lovely if she can't find enough in herself?
