taxonomites Fourth Wall Event

The sudden influx of new arrivals had taken all of them - including DG, who regarded her tablet warily as the dots on the maps appeared and disappeared with alarming rapidity - by surprise.

She hadn't seen any familiar names yet and it was difficult to decide if she was pleased about that or not. She didn't want any of her other friends to be imprisoned here, but that didn't mean that she didn't miss them. And her family. She'd only just found her parents again. She'd been snatched away to Taxon before they'd had time to rebuild a relationship that she'd all but forgotten.

And Az. Az needed her. She'd promised that she wouldn't let go again, but the kidnappers hadn't cared about that. They didn't care about anything other than their own twisted games.

DG was sitting, cross legged, on Glitch's bed with a sketch book in her lap and a frown of concentration on her face. It had been months since she'd seen them, but her loved ones - her mother's warm lavender eyes and her father's smile and sister's elegance - took shape easily on the paper.

She wished she knew how much of the drawing was coming from her memory and how much was just her imagination.
