Lithuania leaned against one of the ship's masts as he watched the waves. A worried headache had been bothering him after finding out about a very unfortunate circumstance. Just being on Russia's ship now was adding onto his anxiety, along with the Soviet girl who was now onboard. He thought fresh air would help calm him, but nothing seemed to be working.
While tending to the sunflowers, Russia notices Lithuania approaching one of the masts and leaning against it, and he watches the man silently for a while before stepping out from the middle of the tall flowers, calling out "Liet."
Hearing Russia's voice, Lithuania jumped slightly before slowly facing the other. "Ah, h-hello, Russia..." He didn't make an attempt to move but looked at him with a resigned look, ready on command.
Smiling calmly, Russia looks at him from the upper deck "Is there something bothering you?"
"O-of course not! W-why... why would anything be wrong?" Lithuania asked with a slightly nervous chuckle. "A-ah, maybe I should go clean around again," he said to himself but announced it loud enough that Russia could hear.
"No, there's no need" Russia waved a hand at him, gesturing for him to get up there "Come join me."
With a barely audible sigh, Liet stepped away from the mast and walked to the upper deck. He studied the sunflowers before smiling slightly at Russia, "T-they look really good today."
"Da, I think so too" ne nods, sitting down on the floor. It's too hot right now, so he's just wearing a shirt and pants, his jacket and scarf resting a couple of feet away.
Lithuania walked up to one of the sunflowers and lightly touched the petals. "Ah, they've grown beautifully, Russia..." He turned slightly to look at the other, "This is a beautiful place, isn't it?"
Russia tries not to grin happily as he nods in agreement "The sunflowers like this sun. It's nice."
He blinked at Russia momentarily as his headache lessened a bit. "You like the sun too... right?"
Russia doesn't answer, though, and just smiles silently at him.
The silence unnerved him, making him smile nervously, "I-I mean, this is like your dream, right?"
"Mmhm. I suppose." he replies in a low tone, letting his gaze fall on the sunflowers instead.
"I-It must be nice to live your dream..." Lithuania said as he turned back to the sunflower. He winced slightly as his headache returned with a sharp pain.
"It's alright." he agrees, noticing when Lithuania reacts to the pain, and he speaks up again "What's wrong?"
He waved Russia's question away, "A-ah, i-it's nothing, really. I'm fine..." Lithuania took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down so that his worrying wouldn't worsen the headache.
"I asked what's wrong." Russia's not convinced, so he repeats himself insistently, tone low and calm.
"...I-I heard about-... I heard about the bounty", Lithuania said quietly but didn't look at Russia. His body froze and his mind went racing again. "I-I guess I'm just... worried."
"Yes, Taiwan told me about it" Russia falls silent for a second before speaking up again, looking at Lithuania "Worried about what?"
"...I-I'm worried that-... you'll be targeted, won't you?" Lithuania looked up at the sunflower's petals again, "If this is a different world... I don't t-think it's the best idea to get hurt here..."
"Just because they targeted me doesn't mean they can get me" he replies simply "They can't harm me."
Lithuania turned around quickly to face Russia, "Y-you're not planning anything else, are you?!"
"...I wasn't planning anything to begin with" Russia shoots a quizzical look towards Lithuania.
"A-ah, I just... I-I'd rather have people not think you're a criminal..." Lithuania mumbled as he lowered his gaze. "...I-It would be bad if people got hurt."
Russia merely shrugs. He doesn't really give a damn about what people think, he never really did much. He thinks about this for a moment before replying "No one will get hurt."
Liet held back a bitter smile, "O-oh, of course not. Not even the people we got our boats from?" His eyes widened as his mind registered that he said his own thoughts outloud. Apologizing quietly, Lithuania looked away from Russia while his hand hovered over his mouth, ready to stop him from saying anymore.
Russia can't help the surprise from showing on his face at such a direct question. He wasn't planning on giving him an answer, but he mutters under his breath, quickly before he can stop himself "I meant the people who matter."
"W-why don't we... take this place as a new chance?" Lithuania asks tentatively before looking back at Russia. "W-we don't have to worry about the millions of lives behind us! We... are just ourselves here, aren't we?"
"There are always millions of lives behind us" he replies as he stands up, walking closer the sunflowers again. "And not only of those still alive."
Lithuania stepped away from Russia's direction, a sunflower stem pressing against his back. "I-I... I know that they're still behind us... But I t-thought that we could take this chance and... fix things. N-not everyone knows our history here, so why can't we keep everything clean?"
Russia observes the sunflowers quietly, contemplating his options for a couple of minutes before nodding in compliance "Alright."
He stared at Russia for a moment, trying to understand that he was agreeing with him. "D-do you mean it...?"
Running his fingers through one of the sunflowers' petals, Russia looks over at Lithuania "Yes."
Liet studied Russia for any sign of deceit before cautiously walking over to him. "T-thank you," he said quietly with a sincere smile on.
Russia masks his face with a smile, not moving as Lithuania approaches. "It's nothing."
"...I-I'm just surprised that you actually listened to me..." Lithuania said with a small blush as he looked away.
Russia chooses not to say anything to that, distracting himself with cutting the withered leaves of the sunflowers.
Lithuania fidgeted slightly as Russia went silent. "A-ah, sorry, maybe I said too much..." he smiled nervously as he watched the other begin to tend to the sunflowers. "...Is there anything I can do?"
"It's alright" he murmurs, not looking away from his flowers "No, I like to do this myself."
"Oh... of course." He paused before making his way back inside the ship to watch Russia silently. It seemed odd to not receive more of a rebuttal over his opinion, but he pushed the thought away. "T-then, I'll go head back. Excuse me," Liet muttered, as he made his way across the deck.
