Random update
I haven't posted in such a long time. Well, not THAT long, but, about 3 weeks. That's a long time for me, anyhow. My life has just been one crazy event after another. About three weeks ago, a student of mine was in a really bad car accident. Some freaking drunk driver hit them from behind and their car flipped over and rolled across 95 before smashing into a light post. The boy's name is Zach, and he is 8 years old. His dad and 2-year old sister died from the accident, and he was put into the intensive care unit of Broward General Hospital with brain swelling, tongue swelling, burns, cuts, a collapsed lung, and a bruised lung. It was so tragic.
He is back at school already, though. He made an amazing recovery, and wanted to come back. The doctor's expected it to be about 2 months before even returning to school, and 4 months until he was completely healed. Goes to show you that no doctor can ever tell you what to expect. God is always in control. And I thank God for his gracious mercy he bestowed upon Zach. I thank Him for Zach in general, because he is so special to me.
He is distant now, and he never used to be like that, but it's completely understandable, just very hard for me to deal with, because I am very close with him. However, everyday he is getting closer and closer to becoming the boy I knew before all this happened. And he is being so strong about everything. But, I'll be there when he breaks down. Waiting. Ready to comfort him.
On a more positive note, kind of, we are going to the Farwell/Hello Tenth Avenue North show tonight in West Palm. It should be really fun. I haven't been to one of their shows for a few months, and I've really missed it. I'm going to miss Drew and Danny, though. It's not going to be the same band, that's for sure. But I'm sure God has great things in store for all of them.
