I remember seeing some real tarantulas acting like that in the pet store
Wow. I've actually never seen a tarantula in a pet store except really recently. Mostly mammals, birds and the occasional reptile. Thanks, I was thinking about doing that earlier, since it might be easier to learn about the animal itself, instead of just in a totem context.
I wonder if there's something going on in your life that you're scared or wary of and you need help to confront it.
Well, I'm worried about getting money for school, even though it's my last year and everything has been fine so far. And I'm stressed/worried about money problems in general, and a lot of "post college life". I have an idea about what I want to do, but at the same time, I feel like all my plans could be thrown to the wind at any moment. (I say that because I've been trying to open myself up spiritually, and I'm very preoccupied with my life path, and I worry that MY plans don't fit in with what the Universe has in store for me o.o).
When tarantulas are afraid (and in real life, they're much more scared of you than you are of them, trust me), they will raise up their fangs and front legs and end up exposing their underbelly to your eyes as a defense mode.
That's pretty much verbatim what happened. o.o'' I'll keep all this in mind. Thank you!

Lol! I'd be knocking you over too to get you to snap out of this mindset and go forth with your plans. "Get out of your burrow and snatch up some prey!"
Maybe that's the spider equivalent of whacking you upside the head XD
Now you already do know that you're probably going ot have to confront him again, so I won't repeat all that advice. I just want to let you know that I understand your fear of doing so. I used to be a big arachnophobe myself (they couldn't even be in the same room with me without getting killed), but after realizing spiritual connections between me and spider I've gradually reduced that fear over the past year to the point where they actually crawl on m e once in a while , and live to tell the tale, lol.
Now I got a double whammy with them...spider totem and a spider deity. Oy. Soon it'll probably be a triple whammy because I'm interested in studying them as "my animal" when I get my zoology degree.
/rambling, lol
But yea, that fear can be worked through, and you don't always have to be afraid.

:D I believe that. I found a really nifty totem dictionary by Steven Farmer online. After reading through what Tarantula means, especially as my totem, it makes a lot of sense. How Tarantulas are solitary, and I definitely consider myself a loner, even though I do enjoy company with good friends.

That reminds me of my cousins. If they saw a spider, they would run out into the hall, freaking out. And of course, fear is contagious, so I would be out there with them until their dad came. And right after the meditation, it took me like an hour to get to bed, and even later on, I felt like there was something crawling on me or that there were spiders under my covers. o.o;;

Oh! a spider deity? Who is it?

I wanted to be a zoologist when I first started school, but it realize they did more lab work than field, which was what I wanted. I was going to do wildlife biology, but didn't do so hot in my biology class, and when I transferred schools, other majors caught my interest T.T So even though I won't be graduating with a B.S (and I'm kind of glad, cause at my school, all the science majors I know have horrible schedules since they have class every day at 8am. That's a hell-no in my book) I can still work with animals in my own way!!
But yea, that fear can be worked through, and you don't always have to be afraid.
I'm going to try. There's a pet store near me with a tarantula that I'm going to visit. I want to take baby steps - I'm even considering buying a tarantula plushie to help me get used to the way spiders look, which is part of my fear of them.
