(no subject)

No haiku today. My sincerest apologies.

Class went quite well for an improvised lesson plan, I must say.
One of the assignments handed in to me was a love letter. (No, it wasn't addressed to me. The student will remain unnamed regardless.)

I must say, it got me thinking. The student body here houses such a wide variety of species, and yet it appears that love continues to bloom. Such things are inevitable when you round up a pile of hormonal adolescents, you see. I've heard through wholly ethical non-mind-reading means that there are inter-species relationships going on here. And Pokemon that don't even share an egg group! Somewhere out there, a breeder is shedding a single tear.

I can't help but wonder what sorts of traits the different cultures and species here find attractive, and how they differ from the Final Destination City human standards.

As for myself... strong wings, fiery eyes and a clever mind. A straight back and a head carried high. A fine green coat with two delicate yellow stripes, and a song as sweet as a chime.

I've never put much thought into it, myself; Pokemon with a pedigree simply breed with whomever their trainer wishes them to.
By contest standards, however, a Xatu should have clearly marked stripes on the hem of their coat; straight posture; vivid plumage colors with no blending; our crests should be a strong red and fall to mid-back; and only two red eyespots on our chest. I have a few relatives with a "cyclops" gene, but thankfully I was spared. Black "pupils" in the eyespots are acceptable, but frowned upon.

[[OOC: Strikes are deleted, of course.]]
