saturday charlie and i tried to see memorial day fireworks at navy pier. it was my surprise.
the website definitely said they began at 10:15.
. . . .
we got there at 10 just to see the finale.
i was pretty bummed but we wanted to make good use of the bus and cab fare expended to get there.

we went on a seadog speedboat for the chilliest, cheesiest, & romantic thirty minutes i'd had in awhile.

of course taking pictures while moving, especially with a less than exceptional camera, wont produce desired results.. but at least i wasnt dumb enough to use the flash and get nothing but the back of people's heads like some other photography N00BZ were doing.

this city is incredible.

yesterday was absolutely perfect.
amanda lent me her bike so charlie and i could bike down to the zoo and go paddle boating with the ducks.
they had swan shaped boats but those were $18/half hour and he said they didnt get any speed. we stuck with the regular ones.
we saw lots of baby chicks, charlie did the paddling [and creeped up on the dumb ducks] and i lounged over the side with my feet in the water.
then we saw a duck poop as he swam. i think he got nervous because we were following him.
after the boat "sesh".. we rode over to north avenue beach and got killer brodacious tans.
our night ended with tall boys and mystery science theater movies.
i cant wait for more days like this once i get my own bike.

today i slept in after reaffirming my belief that my "job" isnt worth waking up for.
$20 day and only working, usually, three days a week? no thanks.
last friday i got a paycheck for $75... and that was TWO weeks worth of work.
what motivation is that? fuuuck it.
after a nice mornings rest, i turned in a few job applications [for love of god, PLEASE LET ME GET HIRED], got panera for lunch.. and surprised the boy with jamba at his work.

then i came home and took a picture because i was bored and experimenting.

yeah. not all that awesome. amandas camera is though. and yes, my face is burned. and yes, that definitely is a giant, jeweled marlin above our tv.

now im here and its getting chilly in this apartment.
time to go the park and read.
