Hail!
Today, all the signs of Obama celebrations made me think of three things that kept me ruminating all day:
1 - Huzzah! We have a new president! But he's still the President of the United States. That means he's the Emperor. He's gonna be a much more compassionate, benevolent emperor than ones we've had in the past, but as much as I'm crazy about the man, it's equally important with Obama as it was with Bush for me to remember that this guy is Caesar, of one sort or another.
[the others are actually just things to anger conservatives and anti-Communists ^_^]
2- have "spontaneous demonstrations of support" for the President. They'd actually be genuine, but it'd be hilarious, in light of the Repubs calling Obama a socialist, to make this kind of reference to Soviet Communism. Thinking of you, orionsbelt200 ! ^___^
3- refer to Obama as "Dear Leader". The justification is, again, a Soviet Commie reference.
Y'all should know by now that I'm actually a socialist. As a woman said to me at an interview tonight, "They say he's a socialist. What's so bad about that?" I couldn't agree more ^_^ Not that he is; can't have it all, I suppose!
