I know the last thing ya all want is to hear from the likes of me but I got some apologies to hand out. I don't remember everyone I attacked, so if you don't get anything from me, just say so. I also don't know everyone's names of who I attacked, but I'm gonna try my best to list ya.

[Luke knows that you are supposed to accept apologies as a gentleman, regardless of how severe the transgression. That isn't making it easier for him to actually do so or even attempt to say anything much in this response to Tatsumi's apology. He is trying though.]

We're not supposed to attack kids. It's, like, a rule. The kind with punishments and stuff. So, knowing I attacked ya and a bunch of other kids... is really strange to me.

[There's another pause, as if he's thinking before replying.] if its a rule why did you break it?
...and saying sorry doesn't really make it any better you know..

I don't know. I've been asking myself that, too. It was like I wasn't all there. Crazy or not, it's really hard to explain how I felt then and how I feel now.
[Probably because he doesn't actually "feel" any different but now he has to cover up his mistakes.]
I know it doesn't make it better, but, like I told someone else, I just couldn't leave things like they were. Besides, everything I did doesn't just make me look bad, but a few others too. I can't let them suffer just because I lost my sanity for a few days.

[He trails off. He knew he should accept the apology, but it just didn't..sit right with him. He didn't think Tatsumi had been acting so crazy; since he'd seen Megumi claiming she was hungry in the past and truthfully there wasn't much Tatsumi did that was different than what she did except for the part where he stopped halfway through to give him instructions.]

In a sense, I knew what I was doing... but it didn't feel like a bad thing at the time because it was either I bite people or I die... and I guess my body chose to live so my judgment was messed up. If America hadn't stopped me, I don't know if I'd still be that way or not.

[And since he was fidgeting on the other side of the communicator--regardless of him not liking Tatsumi or Megumi he didn't like people fighting on his account--he somehow pressed the video button. He needed to get better with the buttons on this thing, but at least Tatsumi would get some visual verification. Luke had a lovely size bruise on the side of his head, which was still partially obscured by his still deliberately-sideways-placed hat. And when his hand passed across the screen as he tried to figure out what button could switch this quickly back to voice, the bruises from the restraints on his wrist were visible too.]

I know. Most of it is my fault... even from before. I should have punished her the first time you were in the hospital.
Ya see... there are rules against attacking children. I've already received my punishment but she has yet to receive hers.

[Tatsumi's angry face was making him more than a little bit nervous, and he sits back from the camera, fidgeting with his hat.]

I know my memory isn't as great as it should be, these past few days, but I know that if I was to hit ya, you wouldn't have been able to walk away.
Not that I'm gonna hurt ya now, or anything. You've got more than your share of pain. It's time someone else got theirs.

[Just because a girl hit him didn't mean that he could walk away. She hit him hard enough to knock him out and left him in a trashcan.]
[Tatsumi's reassurance that he wouldn't hurt Luke now didn't do much to reassure him, and Luke remained sitting back from the small communicator, frowning.]

[Tatsumi didn't mean Megumi, but himself. Either way, details are what he craved, specially in his isolation. House arrest was better than most his options, but certianly not much fun.]
