(no subject)
God, I haven't posted in awhile. Not much to report, nothing all that disasterous going on. Merry Christmas or whatever. Some kid taped cutout snowflakes on my door. I figure I should take that as a hint to get more in the spirit of things.
'Cept Christmas technically happened in April.
Well, anyway. New people, I'm Sakuya Kira from Angel Sanctuary. Nice to meet you or whatever. Any fellow chain-smokers join up since last time I posted? Doubt it.
I had some time over the weekend and since the series is only three episodes, I decided to watch the anime of the series I'm from.
... Okay, for starters, that OVA barely covered anything that happened to us. Just something sort of like character introductions and then it dealt with the incest, the gang violence (think West Side Story without the musical numbers), the angels, and Sara dying, and that was pretty much it. I think they left out a couple of people ('cause I vaguely remember meeting Sara's best friend at... some point in real life. I think her name was Ruri? Maybe?). But everyone that wasn't left out ended up with something along the lines of "Hi, I'm ______ and I'm not sure what I'm doing in this anime, either. Insert angst here." And it left the storyline hanging at the point where Setsuna went off to Hades.
But anyway. I was more annoyed by the fact that the animators completely butchered how we look.
1) I'm not wearing a black shirt
2) I look like I spent an entire summer roasting in the warm Tokyo sun
3) I look like I've got a mullet never mind, that's canon
4) That's more of a face for Chinese water torture than for walking across the street. Even for me.
I admit I have really long fingers. But they're not that long.
This is a horrible shot. Setsuna looks... recognizable, but he isn't quite that tanned either and even he has the deformed chin/lip/eyebrows/etc. thing going on. .... I dunno, there's just something that looks messed-up with everyone in the anime.
... For the record, Katou doesn't look that horrible in real life either. Unless he's taken six different kinds of drugs at once. Great shade of day-glo yellow hair dye though. And nice sweatervest.
... Probably the most accurate pic of the bunch. Sara-chan PMSing on Setsuna and me. But mostly Setsuna.
