Yay for the credit card!

Ahhhh, finally finally got around to getting some money to pay for my LiveJournal account features again, so welcome back my nice 50 icons, my utter customisation, my ability to upload photos and oh so much more. And there was much rejoicing! Yay, hoorah, woo. Anyway, me and wormlover went into town yesterday and ended up seeing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the original plan was to see Skeleton Key, but that wasn't on until 5pm - gah!) Anyway, it was good to see it because Deep Roy (who plays Badlaa in the X-Files) plays every single one of the Oompa-Loompas! Woo! So, that was fun. I also got a couple more DVDs again, and after hanging around in town for two more hours while waiting for Dave's bus (and speculating on nicking off with an unmanned yellow wooden cart) headed on home. Pretty good day all in all.

On other topics, the new website I'm working on for Dwayne Rooks (false alias, see last post tagged work) was going pretty well. Its a very low pay job, because he doesn't think it entails a lot of work, unfortunately. Its basically copying another website and putting it in another skin, but I always find it really miserable to work with some of my code which is 2 or 3 years old, and sometimes I even force myself to change (and in some cases, completely start over from scratch) the code because of its glaring mistakes. Anyway, all was progressing well, after restructuring a major part of it, and completing about half of the work I had done, while it was in its tempoary design whilst I awaited Dwayne Rook's brothers, Karl, to get back to me with the design they wanted. Well, the day came when I received the design they were looking for in a zipped up file. Well, I opened it -- and stepped back from my computer. It's pink. The design is pink. Freaking pink. And not a nice pastel pink. No, bright pink. With some crummy, and of course, as always, incorrectly spelt subtitles and white text on the light pink background -- in other words, unreadable.

So, thats made my work become about twenty times worse because I find it hard to face looking at the website. But oh well, it has to be done. I've done about 90% of the work now, so a few finishing touches when I work on it tonight, and hopefully it should be done. And there will be much more rejoicing. Much much rejoicing.

Huzzah. (Can you feel the excitement?)
