Well, I should really try and read those super 60-odd page long specifications for formats a lot closer. As it would appear, I might have missed something very important in creating the MIME emails (see
previous post): two hyphen dashes at the end of a boundary make all the difference - and they signify the end of a part. I just didn't notice. So, in the end my email ends up like this:
So far, it's still working - and thats a few extra bits I saved! I get the HTML email with image in both Thunderbird and Gmail, and my webmail kindly shows me the text message. I haven't heard back from my client on whether his app will read it, but I think I might be onto it now. It is DONE! Phew! :-) Needless to say, Thunderbird and Gmail was still gladly accepting my earlier incorrect emails - but my client's app didn't, of course. And who is number 1? The Client!
Part 1 of "Get Steve a Job" is complete (referenced in third party such as to inform you who I am, not because it was originated by me) and letters are off. Stuff's done for a day or so. I launched the new
