Well, I don't think I bombed the test, buuuut I went through my notes after the test and I'm rootin' for a B.
Ya know, cramming two hours before the test itself... probably not such a hot idea. I know i aced the multiple choice. If there's one thing I learned in elementary school it was how to game a multiple choice test. I suck at math, and one year on TAAS (now TAKS) test I got 100% on the math portion just because I knew how to tell which answers were wrong.
My ear won't quit popping. Lame.
So now I'm stuck here at work. It's a fairly nice day outside and the hills are green with fresh grass. I really just want to go to the park and roll down the hills. Hike around and sit by the stream. I love Spring time in California. I always got depressed whenever Spring sprang in Austin because it meant I was going to inevitably be sick for three months with allergies. That, and my birthday was always shat upon by SXSW since my parents were involved. And then Flipside would eat up all my time with its drama. By the time I could slow down enough to enjoy Spring, it was already Summer, even though it was mid-April.
Spring here in the bay area is pretty spectacular to witness. There's a ridiculous amount of cherry trees here and they're ALL blooming. The fruit trees will bloom early next month. You can walk down the street and pick fresh oranges and lemons to bring home. Whenever Rob and I go out to Brentwood to pick up his nieces, we like to stop at the farms on the way to pick our own strawberries, peaches, black berries, corn, grapes, oranges, lemons, you name it. The best part is that a huge basket full only costs MAYBE $10. When I drive out to Texas I'm going to stop in Gilroy to pick strawberries, cherries, peaches & garlic (Gilroy is the "garlic capitol") for my trip.
There's nothing like standing in the wind and having cherry blossom petals get stuck in your hair.
Rose bushes thrive out here too, so there's tons of beautiful roses to stop and smell. Lines of daffodils go wild along the hills of hwy 280. And the hills! The hills are usually a golden yellow, if not a scorched brown, depending on how late in the year it is. But in spring, if only for a little tiny while, they're all green. It's amazing to have these HUGE beautiful green hills tower overhead.
I do miss the natural green water of Austin though. There are wee streams here, but no kind of natural swimming areas to speak of. Sure there's the beach, but the water there is typically WAY too cold. Rob and I plan to hit up Barton Springs when we're in town. I just hope the weather isn't god awful at that point. It's so nice and mild out here with temps in the 60s and NO FREAKIN HUMIDITY. I'm spoiled rotten, what can I say.
Right then. Now that I've tortured myself with the thought of beautiful spring going on outside while I have to work, I'm going to, well, go back to work. Entering 0s & 1s on an Excel spreadsheet, HELL YEAH.
