Beloved Batman's Goodbye

Tonight I was cleaning out my car when I hear a thumping on the porch. I figured it was the new guy's cat, the one who's fat and skittish and horrible. But it wasn't.

It was my Batman!!!

For those who don't know, sweet little Batman somehow broke his leg. BAD. They managed to save it, but he's seriously worse for wear. he's lost all movement of his tail, which hangs limp and is going bald on the tip from being dragged on the ground so much. He doesn't quite walk right either. But he's still the sweetest kitty ever. He stayed by me while I finished cleaning my car, and then followed me up to my room. It's the first time I've seen him in over a month, since the break.

So I'm having one last night with my sweet beloved Batman, as he tries to type along with me on my computer (no really, he puts his paws on my hands, it's the cutest thing ever), and then tomorrow I will set off a flea bomb to rid the room of any trace that my sweet cat once had in here.

He's also drooling a lot. Must still be doped up.

It breaks my damn heart to see him like this, but just knowing he's okay is worth it. He doesn't seem to be in any real pain, though his hips are considerably thinner from losing so much muscle. My poor fucking cat, seriously. I'm going to miss him SO MUCH when I leave, but I'm glad I'm getting one last night with him.

He's taught me a lot. I've bonded with him moreso than any other animal I've ever encountered that wasn't one of my own (and even then I've bonded with him more than most animals I've ever personally had).

But he is not mine to have, and I hope he will enjoy this room long after I am gone (since his actual owner has this room next semester, strangely enough). I love him.

[edit: scratch that. He just leaked. The reunion was shortened.]
