Fringe update 3

Aug 26, 2010 13:23

I am now back home from the fringe but that's not going to stop me from telling you about:

TUESDAY
  • Tiffany Stevenson - Good, nothing spectacular. Made a reference to Mussolini being like an 1940's Charlie Brooker for slagging off Hitler's book, ahaha
  • Maeve Higgins - Better than Tiffany Stevenson, very whimsical, just kinda talks about anything, I'm not sure if she actually did any prepared material, haha. But yes, she's very adorable and lovely and funny.
  • Roisin Conaty - Even better than Maeve Higgins, I was in the front row so got talked to <3 There were two people in the audience who were both the sorta talkative type, the sort of people who don't really heckle but they basically say too much when asked, or butt in with stuff. I think she got a bit taken aback, but she made light of it so it was all good.
  • Jon Richardson - Always good. Can't work out if he was better than Roisin Conaty or about the same, it doesn't really matter they're completely different anyway. Not really much to say about him but <3
  • Greg Davies - My whole family went to this (including my little brother) and when we sat down this woman came up to us and said 'Greg would like to warn you that the show is very rude and would prefer you to sit out of his eyeline' because he didn't feel comfortable with saying that sorta stuff whilst looking at a child haha. It wasn't actually that rude (I haven't seen anything this fringe that was very rude) but i could see why he did it. Anyway it was good, the stuff he was saying about being a clinically depressed drama teacher for 13 years saw SO Mr Stokes I can't believe it. Poor Stokes.
WEDNESDAY
  • The Rap Guide to Evolution - Brilliant, very intellectual interesting and informative, you may know Baba Brinkman for doing a short set at 9 lessons and carols for godless people last year. You can listen to the whole album (and his 'Rap Guide to Human Nature' album too) if you go to www.babasword.com, and you can download it for whatever you want to pay. I would thoroughly recommend doing that.
