I just got home. My tour was supposed to end at midnight.
23:59 the call comes in. Violent EDP, cut his lip.
On and off the scene in 29 minutes. Full restraints, he's fighting and kicking and THHBPTing the whole time, they gave him seven times the maximum dosage of the sedative and still he fought us all the way to the ambulance.
So, yeah. Six sets of gloves and so many in jokes later, we leave the ER at 1:30. I've now been in uniform for the last fourteen hours, and nothing real happens until the last two. Figures.
If any of my teachers actually expect me to stay awake, much less pay attention, in six hours, they can take my medic's shears and shove them up their collective asses.
