1. When she listens to Elena talk about Stefan's older brother, Jenna was expecting some college student, one of the frat rats she remembered from her own undergrad years. She was not expecting Damon, in all his black jeaned, tight shirt, blue eyed glory.

It was a good thing she was a responsible, adolescent rearing adult now because otherwise she definitely would have hit that.

2. She sees him flirting with Carol Lockwood at one of the Founders' events. Carol is practically melting in her $500 heels, laughing as if Damon's words are the funniest she has ever heard, touching his arm repeatedly, and Jenna rolls her eyes.

"You're shameless," she tells him when he returns to the bar for a refill.

Damon grins, sex oozing from every pore. "You have no idea."

3. He randomly shows up one family night and volunteers to make dinner. She doesn't turn him down because the only thing she can successfully make is frozen pizza. Damon pours them wine as he makes cooking look effortless, and Jenna begins to calculate how long it's been since she's had sex and whether or not it makes her some kind of pathetic, desperate woman if she just offers it up no string attached.

And then Elena comes home, Damon turns to look at her niece, and Jenna has a feeling she isn't the reason Damon came over tonight.

4. When Damon and Kelly start going at it at the bar, Jenna feels like the girl nobody asked to the dance. She has been sitting around for months trying to see if Damon might be interested, and Kelly just waltzes back to town and is immediately on a one-way train to Orgasm-ville.

God, her life sucks.

5. She opens the front door and finds Elena and Damon wrapped around each other, clearly in the middle of the make-out Jenna has fantasized about more than once. The anger in her chest is sharp, sudden, burning, and it is not jealousy.

Elena is Stefan's girlfriend, Damon's brother's girlfriend, and who does that to their own brother?

Her crush dies right then and there.
