The Wichita Lineman
So last night Honeywagen made its official debut in the booming metropolis that is Wichita. I have always heard what a cool little place Kirby's Beer Store is from bands they have played it. And boy were said bands not kidding when they told me little as it literally takes 20 people to fill the place. But we had a plenty big enough stage to do our thing so it was all good. We made enough for gas money on the way home which was about what we figured we would make. Since it was halloween weekend the bartender told us it was a slower then normal due to lot's of parties going on (and also the WSU kids trying to avoid the fuzz who were out in full force looking for drunk drivers) and that we need to play there on a regular Saturday night when they are a lot busier. It was really cool to see Rob from O'Phil, ALbert from the Istanbullies and a group of VERY hot females dressed up full alien garb though. Playing for all of them made the trip worthwhile for me. Not sure if or when we'll play there again as it is a little bit of a haul. But if the show and date are good ones, I'm sure we'll do it. Thankfully it was daylight savings and we gained back an hour but it was still close to 4:00pm when I got to bed.
So today is halloween and I'm not 100% sure whats going on yet. I gotta talk to Miss Liz and see whats up. I'm thinking the Bottleneck show with The Last Caress and Magfuckinificent is the place to be. Liz asked me to join her and who ever else she could round up to dress us as the members of Motley Crue. Thankfully I can make that costume a reality pretty easily if thats still what we decide to do. One of the guys in Magfuk, Cody Wyoming, is a really good friend mine and my band. His real band Cody Wyoming and The Golden Hearted Whores and us have played a show together in the past and I have known him for a couple of years now. He was also part of my band scramble band Superking for the KC Band Scramble competition that I was a part of back in August. He is also one of the nicest guys in the entire scene. It would be cool to see him tonight even though I know I'll be seeing him a couple of other times later this week. Ultimately tonight will be Liz's call.
But first priorities are to think about getting some food in me and getting ready for the big Chiefs game today at noon. After the game (and the subsequent long nap that I'm sure will happen as well) I'll start getting in Halloween mode.
