I always like the end of the quarter in the art building because you get to see what everyone has been working on/ their final projects.
Here are some pictures I took after my job interview (which went well) as I climbed the third floor of the art building to retrieve my paintings.
It was standing straight yesterday. Either a jackass knocked some cards over, or the wind did...which makes the wind the jackass >:(
amazing
I think this was from... a sculpting class revolved around enlarged objects. There was an exhibit before with things like a giant kiwi that looked like a comfy chair.
Welcome to the UCDavis Art building, please feel free to step on their faces.
F1 to F2 - only thing there because there usually lacks art going up to the 2nd floor because the 2nd floor is the art history floor. I believe this was for the print making class.
Climbing up from the 2nd floor to the third floor. Print making class.
Still climbing up stairs, this is like... a doll. Her clothes are peelable, her face is too! but... I was guessing it would have a skull behind it... but it was only mascara and earrings. Print making class again I believe.
Not sure what class this is for.
Final thing you see to tell you that you have made it to the third floor. Print making class.
Walking down the hall, and there's print-made chandeliers!
More print making. The print was very...peacock like.
A painting done in my class by a classmate, the clouds and cat are very soft.
Polar bear painting by the guy who's cubby is next to mine.
This wasn't a final project. But I just liked it.
Close-up: I really loved the thickness, and texture.
Very 8-bit gun. It's amazing because I saw it when she started the painting and it was just a solid color of blue, and it was rather drippy too.
Close-Up:
Faces.
lolz
Just to give you an idea of.. how most final painting projects are huge.
Sarah is a girl I had in my drawing class during fall quarter. She took intermediate painting and this was her cubby + giant canvas......... I'm excited though because I'm taking intermediate painting next year.
I had to carry all these paintings back home + my giant final painting. I shoved them in my portfolio, which also holds my painting supplies, and it turned huge+was heavy:
Goodbye F3 for now. (Taking print making and painting so I'll practically live here)
Natillie's sculpture for metal sculpting class. There were more metal sculptures inside but, I didn't feel like taking pictures of them.
The cards were magically fixed when I left!
Hope you are inspired?
I'm not posting my final project because I'm not really happy with it due to crunch time for every class. I'll most likely work on it to make it into something I'll like eventually though.
And now I have to finish my overdue research paper! Because I kind of suck. And just really had trouble with putting my ideas down for this one for some reason. Maybe I subconsciously like Renaissance Art now. I'd rather have a low grade for a paper being late, but worked on rather then a paper I half-assed for some reason.
