This is a book concentrating on agrarian environments, they're resources, and the effects of the political environment throughout India. The main section used was that on colonial influences on property, community, and land use in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, which included information on the aqueducts and political rebuilding. It is an edited compilation of works and published by Duke University.

The death toll and destruction from the earthquake was presented in this paper. There was some good seismological information that our group did not have time to present in class. Since the article came from a journal, the article was more creditable.

The aerial photos were useful for the presentation, however, there was no information about the earthquake.
Hough, S., Bilham, R., Ambraseys, N., and Feldl, N. Revisiting the 1897 Shillong and 1905 Kangra earthquakes in northern India: Site Response, Moho reflections and a Triggered Earthquake.
The reason for the large amount of damage was discussed in this paper, including liquefactoin. The paper felt very credible because it was a scientific paper.

Parry's book is an ethnographic study of caste, kinship, and marriage practices seen in this Hindu community in northern India. This had general information on the Kangra area as well as some history and some statistics of economics. The information was backed up by ethnographic data and appeared reliable.

This consisted of the statistics made from the 1934 census of India, concentrated on the Kangra district. The statistics were made in comparison to the data from previous years dating back to 1895. As a census, it is reliable.

http://www.asc-india.org/ The website, which is the website for the Amateur Seismic Center in India, provides basic information of the earthquake, as well as comparing this earthquake with other great earthquakes in South Asia. The information presented here is somewhat reliable, but some discrepancies are found in the number of deaths, and is written by amateur geologists.
