Name: Toshio Kurosawa
Age: 16
Star Sign: Gemini; June 10
Grade Average: D
History:
Toshio's history isn't really anything special, nor is it ultra-boring. At least, he never thought so, despite being quite friendless through the first half of grade school. All of his neighbors were teenagers or adults, and he never went to any sort of daycare, since his mother was excited to have a kid. He never minded, however. This sometimes forced him to get creative and find ways to amuse himself. It especially reflects on his behavior, now, as someone who frequently freestyles. Just putting a hand on someone's knee will amuse him, so he's always been set to go. Not to say that he doesn't desire company-- he's a socially accepted sixteen year old, after all.
Appearance:
Toshio is a short kid, around five-three, with tanned skin and generally round features. He goes wild in his style, but still manages a cool look. He has long, spiked down, dyed auburn hair and often wears form-fitting shirts that have English words in which he has no clue of the translation. His pants also have a pretty good fit, and on his eyes are usually some type of glasses-- sunglasses or prescription glasses. He only wears prescription glasses when he feels like it, or when he's playing video games, with thin silver frames. Sunglasses, however, usually have a colored tint with any sort of frame. On his wrist is a BFF bracelet, Saburo's bracelet being the mate.
Personality:
As smart as he is, the only thing that's drastically dragging him down is his own laziness that makes him procrastinate until the very last minute. He finds himself stressed often due to this, which especially increases his desire to sleep, but he doesn't crash until he's alone. Otherwise, around people, he's especially friendly, but isn't afraid to take the opening to make a crack at someone. This is all in good humor, however. He seems like an all-around goofball who can't take anything seriously, but around certain people he'll willingly talk about what he's passionate about. In his own way he's a cool kid, but most girls would only see him as a good friend and not much more.
Strengths: Humorous, good intentions, easy to get along with, knows when to stop.
Weaknesses: Unreliable for information, forgetful, unintentionally disruptive. He also feels pretty helpless when he sees a girl cry.
Hobbies: Eating, sleeping, playing video games, hanging out, freestyling/song-writing, making fun.
Overnight Bag:
PSP, iPod, cards, junk food, various accessories and toiletries, clothes, notebook and pens. Forgot his ID and iPod charger.
Family:
Sotaro Kurosawa - In many ways, Sotaro strikes Toshio as the epitome of cool. Not in a suave way, but rather in a silent, reserved way. His father is strong, but as a man who works all day and doesn't get home until late at night, he prefers not to be bothered, and would really just like to relax. While him and Toshio don't talk much, there is a mutual feeling of man-to-man acknowledgment between them. Toshio respects him more as a man than he does as a father.
Shiori Kurosawa - Like Sotaro is the epitome of cool, Shiori is the epitome of pure sweetness. She can be a little ditzy or stick out too much, which can embarrass him from time to time, but he's fiercely protective of her. She focuses on being a good mother and a good wife, but sometimes it seems like she doesn't focus enough on being a woman, as opposed to staying a girl in many ways. She can be driven over the edge, however, and when she is she is forced to be stern.
Extra-Curricular Activites:
The one and only sport Toshio applies himself in is baseball. Every other sport, he could care less about his performance in. His position is commonly shortstop or third base. Tryouts for the city's baseball team are two weeks after the trip, an event he's pretty anxious for. Other than that, he's just fine with staying at home.
Classroom Behaviour:
Being forgetful and often unprepared, he often tends to slow the class down. Knowing how frustrating that could be, he at least does it with style, adding in a few comments to make the situation more enlightening to the students (although it's just become his natural behavior, lately), even if the teacher finds it distressing. Sometimes he may forget to be quiet, or get up when he isn't supposed to, but it's not an act of disobedience, and honestly thinks it's usually for his benefit.
Classroom Clique: While he likes to talk with and is adored by the preps, he fits more into the junkie/dork group. He is continuously striving to be cool, but in his own way with funky style.
Classroom relationships:
Saburo Sakai -- "BFF" hands down. Toshio has known Saburo since early junior high, having been paired up with him in gym class on many occasions. At first it was a bit shaky, as their personalities seemed to clash in many areas, but as time wore on, they began to compliment, instead. This was sparked when Saburo had been teased for his effeminate nature, only to be picked on back by Toshio with his justice-like ways. From then on, Toshio was really trying to befriend him, and Saburo had become a bit more accepting. They even had one or two outings before Toshio finally had his episode, in which Saburo had gone so far as to break a nail to help him out, thus the new beginning of their beautiful friendship-- with matching BFF bracelets to boot.
As far as Toshio's thoughts on him, he deems himself as the only one ever allowed to pick on him, otherwise one would have to get his (Toshio's) permission. Determined to keep their friendship, he often finds himself backing down for him, and is often willing to help him out when he needs it. Not to say that he feels inferior, for he will lay the smack-down if he ever needs to, but he just doesn't think too much about it.
Sayo Hironari -- Having known this girl since elementary school and never letting go of their friendship, Toshio has a strong regard for Sayo. They have similar minds, where they are both forgetful and pretty undependable, and he can approach her with silliness without having her tell him to act his age. Together they're goofy, but she is one of the few people Toshio can carry a sentimental conversation with. This is only done when they're alone, though. In short, they're like two peas in a pod.
Kaori Matano -- She's extremely cute, smart, kind.. What's not to like about her? Naturally, someone like Toshio would develop something for her. Even though they flirt constantly, there's still something between them that's keeping them on the level of good friends-- Kaori's thought that Toshio possibly isn't interested in her.
Yuichi Kikumaru -- Sometimes Toshio doesn't understand "what the deal, yo", but it doesn't mean he's entirely phased by this character. In fact, he rather likes Yuichi, mostly through Sayo, for if he's important to her, then he's important to him, as well. His more reserved persona only contradicts Toshio's, but again, this isn't too much of a bother, although those occasional comments don't go unnoticed, not that he entirely minds. When alone with him, he finds the time a bit awkward.
Kishi Yoshii -- In many ways, Kishi and Toshio are two of a kind, being the same short height and having the same in-classroom behavior. Although Toshio has never been to Kishi's house and is overall unaware of his actual lifestyle, he'll invite him over to his house for video games and what's supposed to be study sessions, which end up turning into Kishi doing his homework. He doesn't have much of a problem with Kishi being fond of Kaori, mostly because he doesn't view him as a major threat. All in all, they're good buddies.
Minami Satsuya -- While Minami has a crush on Toshio (and now he's fully aware), since Toshio's sights are on Kaori, he isn't interested in the same way, but still likes her character. Actually admiring and sometimes maybe a bit envious of her achievements, he's behind this girl all the way and tries to serve as a good friend.
Masayuki Fujimura -- There's nothing wrong with Masayuki, nothing at all. Except for the fact that he constantly teases him, and so, Toshio's immediate reaction will be to tease him right back. No hard feelings, though, even in those moments of temporary annoyance.
Umeka Kaza -- A friendly girl, but in his honest opinion she seems a little uptight, even if sometimes it is his fault. He loves talking to her out of class, seeing as she provides a good conversation and is just plain fun to be around, but he knows when he's crossed the line in class if he spots her after one of his many flukes, in which he gets a sigh and a shake of the head. To patch things up he'll tease her a little out of good humor, but if that doesn't work he'll leave it at that.
Kyoko Segawa -- Kyoko is an undeniably beautiful girl, Toshio will grant her that. While they don't get along so much, or really even communicate that often, when they do he'll be friendly toward her. While most of the time he may get a smack in the face or no reaction at all, he's still a persistent little bugger and will continue to encourage her to smile. He's a patient guy; aloof and willing, though for the most part he steers clear to hang out with his other friends, he likes to see if he lighten her up a bit.
Keizou -- Keizou, to Toshio, is an overall shitty character who he could live without, although he doesn't make it a point to start anything. He isn't at all bothered by the little things Keizou does directed toward him, but when he does feel personally offended he'll retort with a cheesy comeback and resume with his life.
I'd be more than happy to work on these with anyone. So, feel free to drop me a line!
