Misa had felt things going down hill. People kept disappearing, leaving, and very few were sent to replace the empty rooms left by those she had worked with. She wondered, vaguely, if she would be next, or if someone she had started to care about would be next. So far, there was no one she had been too close to, except for Grell, if you could call that close.
It was beginning to seem very dull and depressing. The air felt heavy with foreshadowing, and even she couldn't keep her mood up. She wanted to go home, but sometimes she wanted to be here, and get to know the people she had come across. She liked not having the pressures of the media all over her. She liked being able to find that normal person under the sickeningly 'cute' image she had created.
But the mystery of what might come next was not comfortable. The thing she missed most, what she wanted to have here, was stability. She wanted to know that she could hold onto something without fear of it disappearing from between her fingertips.
Unfortunately, Toshima didn't provide that comfort.
She could only take the chances, make friends despite knowing they might all disappear. It was sad, but without them, she'd never bee able to keep it together. Despite how she tried to be strong for everyone else, she was very dependent on them just being there.
So starts another day.
Misa sits in the lobby, waiting for someone to claim her for the next hour or two. She tries to smile and laugh with the waiter as he serves drinks to everyone in the room. She can still act. That was part of who she was. She'd put on a show, pretend to be a bubbly sort. Only if the customer caught the small glimpses of her true mood would she allow them to see it, but not without keeping the mood just right. Some of them loved it, especially the inexperienced ones.
She smoothed out her skirt and adjusted one of her stockings as she looked across the room. She kept that fake, but convincing smile plastered to her face. She wanted to look inviting. She wanted to seek something, anything, in hopes to distract herself for a moment. Something real to break the feeling this was all just a bad dream that didn't matter.
Because she didn't want to believe that everyone here would fade away and be forgotten so easily.
(Also, I apologize for the massive emo in the narrative and I will wan you I probably won't be this wordy in tags XD)
