Who: Blaine Thorps [ cant_getoveryou ], Saotome Alto [ princesspilot ] Where: Magnolia, then to the edge of the Slums What: Self Defense 101 When: May 31st Warnings: Beating up poor Alto?
Alto, on the other hand, had barely slept the night before. Self defense lessons! While the young man had been through quite a bit of physical training when he was younger (being a kabuki dancer required both grace and quite a bit of strength in his hips and legs. His neck too, to support the heavy wig that he often had to wear), most of them were not for combat use. To be offered lessons in combat was something he had never dreamed of before. Even if it was for self defense purposes.
Taking a light breakfast, Alto quickly dressed himself in a sleeveless top and a pair of jeans, his hair tied in a tight ponytail. Blaine had specifically mentioned something that he could move around in, and this was the best he had. Most of his wardrobe had been filled with kimonos that were (he assumed) for easy access.
"Blaine!" Alto greeted cheerfully when he saw the other man. "Hey."
The happy calling of his name brought his attention towards the boy. The blonde gave him a smile back. An excited and willing pupil. Alto was entirely too fresh faced and cute for his own good. He reminded him of his little sister. "You look like you're ready." He faced towards the door, the light already starting to hurt his eyes even though he hadn't been out of it for more than a minute.
"Then lets go. We can get water on the way unless you have a special bottle." He'd buy a bottle of water since he'd thrown out many of his containers after they'd been out of his sight. You never could tell what had been in them after then.
"A little lot on the outskirts of the slums. Hopefully you won't be screaming loud enough to draw attention," he teased as they walked out into the sun.
They walked through the streets and stopped at a corner store for water. He popped his chain open and let a tag fall into his palm to pay for two bottles.
Alto raised an eyebrow mischievously and leaned in close, tracing a hand down Blaine's arm as he whispered into his ear. It wasn't fair that Blaine was the one doing all the teasing so far.
"Depending on how much you plan to make me scream."
Blaine's own eyebrow rose. He hadn't been leaning that way in the conversation, but he let a half smile slide onto his face. He didn't know if Alto thought he would back down, but his response was laced with amusement. "I like it when they scream. Makes it more exciting."
No, Alto wasn't about to back down just like that. He was the one who started the game after all. "Oh?" He replied, a hint of defiance in his voice. "Should I be afraid then? Sadist."
"Not at all," Blaine replied. "They don't scream because it hurts." His voice grew a little softer. "They get the loudest right before the line between pleasure and pain is so thin that the scream gets stuck in their throat."
Pleasure and pain in the same sentence? How contradictory. Alto blinked at Blaine confusedly, not knowing what exactly the older man was talking about.
"You're pulling my leg." He finally concluded and then shrugged, as if dismissing the topic completely.
Blaine turned the corner to an very short alley that opened up into a clearing about the size of a half court, but covered in grass. "Someone will show you one day, but that's for another time," Blaine replied. Then he changed the topic completely. "Look out for any glass and move it to the side. You don't want to fall on it."
"If I'm lucky. Likelihood is that I'll hate anything that's got to do with it soon enough," Alto said as he kicked at the field with his sneakers-covered feet, checking for anything that might cause serious injury later - may it be glass pieces or rusty nails.
"Don't say that." Blaine picked up an unbroken glass bottle and dropped random shards and other things he found into it. "It's better to like your job, but never be satisfied so that you keep moving on to better things."
Blaine slowly backtracked over where he had been and went around to where Alto was looking, his head down and searching, but still talking. "It's not supposed to feel that way."
Finished, he lifted his head and gave the boy a hard stare. Then his hand lifted to flick Alto hard in the forehead if he didn't move fast enough. "That's not why we're here anyway. I'm going to teach you to kick someone's ass."

Alto gathered a few more pieces of broken glass, safety pins and kicked a used condom to the side.
"There was the stench, yes. But when he pressed up against me, I-" he sighed. "I felt him."
