Throughout the city of Toshima, footage of events taking place within the battlegrounds are regularly broadcast on live television. Familiar faces skirt through camera lenses, lethal and non-lethal battles take place, and all are presented for entertainment on mounted televisions over bars like SAKAI, within White Magnolia's lounges, and on rabbit-eared old throw-out televisions in drug dens and traffickers' homes.
For 10 minutes, the visual feed from the battlegrounds cuts-out. Televisions throughout the city broadcast nothing but 'snow.'
When the visual feed comes back, the battlegrounds on-screen are not very different from usual. However, on one visual feed that does not make it to public broadcast within Toshima [as video feeds reporting the most movement are the ones shown on television at any given time], there is nothing but the blood-stained remnants of battle, gouged earth, and a chain with two dog tags laying on the ground.
The King of Clubs and the Ace of Spades, little gleaming points of silver and metallic-red where they glint with fresh blood. They're laying on a strap of paper, like a present, preserved and waiting for someone to claim them by luck or by force.
The paper has a short note scrawled on it:
You i-jin should try being more forward.
