(As a side note, does anyone else want to keep the "Undead Journal" stuff year round?)
Monday- took pictures
Tuesday- carved
Wednesday- see Tuesday
Today- printed
Originally this was going to be a two colour linocut reduction, but since we can't change the pressure on the presses (lame) the paper actually buckled under the heavy embossment, and was distorted enough that I knew registration was just gonna be hell. That, and I think I like it with just one colour.
The text reads "No One is Illegal. Nadie es ilegal." (the same, but in Spanish)
So tired... You know how sometimes you for whatever reason (like a deadline) suddenly live your work for a week or however long, and are incredibly productive, and people say "hey, why aren't you this productive the rest of the time?" and they're half joking, but you know that your production rate is only sustainable in short bursts and that if you tried to do it all the time you would DIE?
...that's kinda how the last month-ish has been. I mean, yes, I love getting a print a week done like this, but all last week was the Rock Garden piece, and all this week has been this piece, and before that was a lot of painting, and this is the first night in a few I've been home before nine, and I am tired. And this weekend is the local Ren Faire and Halloween and Day of the Dead and Diwali.
Maybe I'll go take a nap.
