Jessica’s mouth dropped open as she saw who was waiting outside the SNSD dorm through the little tv screen attached to the wall. Wearing a red cap on top of his short black hair, was Jay Park. He was only wearing a white wifebeater and black jeans.
It was suddenly like a time warp and she was back to a year ago when she used to wait at the dorm like a love struck teen waiting for Jay to pick her up for their next date.
He looked the same. He was carrying a worried expression as he blew some breath into his hands. It was raining outside and the wind wasn’t helping. Jessica noted that he had gotten a few tattoos but honestly she thought it just made him sexier.
Jessica froze with her hand on the button. Was this a dream? Jay was supposed to be in Seattle.
FLASHBACK
Jessica ran into Jay’s arms as she exited her dorm. He was waiting for her but unlike all the other times, a frown was on his face when he looked at her. She stared into his eyes and noticed that he was crying.
“Oppa,” Jessica clung to him closer, “You shouldn’t worry about what they say. Things will settle down. You’ll get through this.”
Jay closed his eyes and then grabbed her hands in his.
“I can’t do this, Sica. I can’t do this to 2PM. I…I’m leaving tomorrow.”
Jessica’s eyes widened, “What are you talking about? You can’t leave!” Uncontrollably she smacked him across the cheek.
“I think it’s the best thing for me and everyone else right now.”
“You’re being a coward!” Jessica switched to English. She was trying to hide her pain. She knew how much this was hurting him too. It was true that the backlash was horrible. The number of death threats Jay was getting was crazy.
“I just wanted to let you know.” Jay looked into her eyes.
Jessica was speechless as she stared back at her boyfriend. She couldn’t say anything. She wanted to beg him to stay but she knew that his decision was settled.
“I don’t want you to come to the airport tomorrow,” Jay took Jessica’s face in his hands. “I’ll try to find my way back to you.” Jay gave her a last gentle kiss. There were tears streaming down Jessica’s face and she hated herself for not being able to say anything.
Jay gave a weak smile, “Jaysica forever?” He tried to joke but Jessica just nodded. He turned around and Jessica watched him leave.
END FLASHBACK
Jessica stared at her tv screen just reflecting that day. Jay rang her doorbell again. He was jumping up and down crossing his arms to keep himself warm.
Suddenly with a frown, Jay started walking off camera.
Jessica stood up abruptly and not caring that she was just wearing pajama boy shorts and a tank top, ran out of her apartment barefoot.
She exited her dorm and was struck immediately with rain.
“Jay!” she screamed, running to the sidewalk.
“Jess!” Jay shouted happily engulfing her into his embrace.
“You’re back!” she said breathlessly, putting her head into his chest. The rain was pouring down on them and the wind was making her hair go wild but she never felt so warm before.
“I told you I’d find my way back to you,” Jay said softly.
Jessica looked up at him.
Jay looked a little panicked, “I mean unless you found someone else.” His grip on her loosened but Jessica gripped him tighter.
“Jaysica forever,” she said and pulled his face to hers, meeting his lips for the first time in a year
