I had a nice weekend. It still felt like a long weekend, even though I worked on Saturday. The Summer Camps registration day was pretty much as crazy as I expected. When I arrived at 8AM, there were already people waiting in line. It was supposed to start at 9, but we were set up and ready to go by 8:30, so we opened early to get a head start. There were 3 of us doing registrations non-stop (other than quick breaks for lunch) from 8:30 to 2:30. By the end, some of the camps started to fill up. I squeezed one person's kid into a musical theater camp that had just filled, because she had probably been waiting in line four hours...so what's one more kid, right? Then later I found out Jamie was doing the same thing, so the camp actually ended up over by 2. But the camps don't start until June, so they'll probably have some cancellations before then, anyway. I was so tired when I went home.
Sunday morning I got up and had an e-mail from Mike (my ex-husband), who I hadn't heard from in ages. Apparently his little girl, who is 3, has a favorite teddy bear that's getting all worn and torn and he found a new one on eBay. But he couldn't get onto eBay from China, so he asked if I would bid on it for him. So, I did, and the auction ended later that day, and I got the bear. I wrote back to let him know, and asked if I was going to have to mail it to China, or if he still has a US address. He said he'll be in Charlotte next week, and he can pick it up from me. I wasn't expecting that, but okay. I can't remember when I last saw Mike. It was probably when he took Zack's ashes to the park, so that was over 4 years ago.
We slept ridiculously late today, and then went out for lunch at a new place that just opened, and went grocery shopping. Tonight was a Homeowner's Association meeting, regarding voting on a fee increase. If we didn't agree to the increase, the amount of maintenance provided would be bare minimum, emergency only. So now the fee is going up, and the amount of service will be...just slightly above the bare minimum. I voted for the increase.
Back to work tomorrow....
