I'm downstairs on the spare laptop Frank lets me use while I'm down here, so I can play on the internet when we're watching TV or whatever. Family Guy is on. Frank just said "You people from Kent, Connecticut have a warped sense of humor." Yesterday we watched the episode of Bill Maher with Seth MacFarlane. It was actually on a few weeks ago, but it was still on On Demand. Someone had sent me a link to a short snippet of it on YouTube, so I wanted to see the rest. It turns out Bill Maher is making some appearances SC and GA, but none of them work out for us. He'll be in Greenville, SC on June 25 and Atlanta on June 26. We'll be in Atlanta on June 26, too, but it's because we are going to the Red Sox-Braves game! I suppose if it looks like the game will get rained out, we can try to get tickets to the Bill Maher show. And Frank thought we could go to the Greenville show the night before, and then stay over and leave from there to go to Atlanta, but then we'd be gone longer, miss a Pride meeting, have to add more time to the cat sitter, etc. so it just wouldn't work. It's okay, I like Bill Maher, but not that much.
This weekend went by so fast. Friday night Frank went to the Nine Inch Nails/Jane's Addiction concert with Roger. I stayed home and caught up on Pride stuff, mostly. Saturday morning was the Pride volunteer open house. I am having a harder time giving up the volunteer coordinating than I thought I would, but I think Sherry, this year's coordinator, will be fine. Not a lot of people showed up, but I think we'll start to hear from people as Pride gets closer. That's how it always works. That night Roger & Jennifer came down. We went to dinner at The Original Pancake House. It turned out that only the South Park location stays open for dinner. I ordered the apple pancake, which is freakin' huge! It looks like an apple cake when it comes. I ate about two thirds of it and brought the rest home. When we got home, Frank, Roger and Jennifer played Wii, but I didn't feel like it. Pretty soon I felt tired, and fell asleep in the chair. I woke up when Roger & Jennifer left, but I could barely keep my eyes open. I guess I overdosed on sugar with that apple pancake, and it just make me want to sleep. I went to bed, and stayed there until about 10 AM. Today was a pretty lazy day, mostly sitting around, watching TV, until I eventually went upstairs, caught up on some e-mails, that sort of thing.
I also watched an interesting documentary on HBO OnDemand called
Be Like Others. It's about Iranians who have sexual re-assignment surgery as an alternative to being gay. It was very interesting, but a little depressing.
