Facebook = Portal to the Past
Okay, so apparently using the Internet to look up old friends from high school and college is so....1999. The new frontier in nostalgia seems to be looking up friends from elementary school. On Facebook, I noticed that someone I am friends with (one of very few I was still in touch with from my old hometown in CT) had joined a Facebook group for "alumni" of our grade school, which was grades K through 8- it was a really small town. She'd posted a couple of her class pictures, from the grade one below mine. Someone else posted a class picture of the class ahead of mine. So, I went home, got some of my pictures of the album and scanned & posted them. I've also found several members of my class to "add." And since I didn't go to high school with anyone from my 8th grade classes, these are people I very well might not have seen in 23 years. One of our former teachers is even in the group! I really don't know the point of re-connecting with any of these people, but it's kind of fun.
