Happy Friday!

Today is my brother's birthday. He doesn't use LJ (at least, not that I know of), but Happy Birthday Ryan. I sent him a card. It's also rowann's b-day, which kind of sounds like "Ryan." Weird. And yesterday was my parents' cat Harley's 16th birthday. I can't believe how old he is. I remember when he and his brother Bart (who died last year) were little baby kitties. I was home for the summer between sophomore and junior year of college, still in bed, and my mom came in with the cat carrier, opened it and two little kittens came out, one all black and one a black & white "tuxedo" cat. They were so cute! My mom said that since Harley & my grandmother moved into my parent's house, Harley is getting along quite well with Bonnee and Mr. Charlie.

I stopped at Harris Teeter after work yesterday. They must have had Earth Day themed specials, because there were tons of sales on things like Kashi meals, Cedarlane (5-layer Mexican dip FTW!), compact flourescent light bulbs- buy one get one free, Green Forest recycled toilet paper, Tom's of Maine, etc. Harris Teeter is a regular grocery store, but they carry a lot of organic/natural products, so I prefer just to go there rather than make a special trip to the "natural food store." I guess if enough people ask for and buy that kind of stuff, regular stores will carry it.

Red Sox beat the Yankees last night 7-5, but it wasn't on TV here.

This should be another pretty busy weekend, provided we actually do everything we have planned. Tonight we want to see Seth Boulton & Dream Machine play at Dolce Vita in NoDa. Seth played at the Community Center Open House last Friday, and told me they will be playing there, and since Frank missed them at the Open House, this will be a good place to go, since it's not that far from where we live. NoDa's a cool area, and the weather should be awesome this evening. Maybe we'll eat at Cabo Fish Taco if the wait isn't too bad. Saturday, of course, is the Clean & Green Festival which I wrote about the other day. Then if we still feel like doing stuff after the festival, there's a musical at the university where I work that we might go to, "Urinetown." I know, strange name, but the show sounds funny.

food, shopping, red sox, pets, family, cats, weekends
