Fixing things
So last Friday I sanded all my kitchen cupboards and refinished them. Then Saturday, I stripped the kitchen floor and re-did it by hand on my knees. I saved myself a TON of money in the process. To get new cabinets in the kitchen, it would have run about $25,000.00. Yes, the zeros and decimals are in the right place. To have someone come in and refinish them it would have been $2,300.00. My kitchen is large, but I thought both prices were crazy. I still hate my kitchen floor and my white tile counter top, but that will eventually get taken care of too in the near future. Until then though, my kitchen looks a lot better. I can live with it and it looks nice again.
My calves hurt though from standing on my tip toes and balancing for the high cabinets above the pantry and the fridge. I even got a massage on Sunday morning. I had to get it done though. School for Michael starts next Monday, and soccer started today. Chaos begins again! :) I love it though. :) Michael kicked butt in soccer today!! He stole the ball, mixed it up with his friends fighting for ball control, and was red hot and sweating when he was finished. He's grown sooo much since last season. It was cool to watch.
