OOC: Backstory and Character Info

Backstory: Torunn (simply pronounced "Torin", with the emphasis on the first syllable) is a fifteen-year old orphan with a strange past. She claims to be the daughter of Thor, king of the gods, which would make her not only a goddess but the crown princess and heir apparent to the entire heavenly realm of Asgard. However, most people believe that she is quite delusional as there is absolutely no proof to support this claim. Still, Torunn is obsessed with viking culture and eagerly gathers any information she can about the Norse pantheon. Or anything that even in the slightest might make her think about what Asgard might be like.
She was abandoned by her father, left to be raised at an orphanage for small children with abnormal powers. All of her 'brothers' and 'sisters' were all there because their parents were murdered when it became known that they were witches, wizards, or other powerful magical folk. Torrin's father just left, leaving her behind with no explanation. There she grew up in a safe environment for people like her, but the entire time she constantly told everyone that her father would be coming back for her.
Though no one believes her stories, she obviously is a Slayer. She's incredibly strong and has never been hurt or even sick a day in her life. She also has a magical sword that only she can lift, a sword that can absorb energy into it's blade. Between her beliefs and her abilities, she sometimes acts as if she's a little better than the other 'mortals' around her. She is headstrong and seemingly fearless, though secretly she often worries about other things not related to battle.
Whether or not her claims are true, Torunn holds herself to the highest standards like a goddess or a warrior princess. She lives for honor and justice the glory of battle, and is eager to prove herself. Any insult to Asgard, real or perceived, is often met with violence. She clings to the belief that her father really is out there and that one day he really will come to take her away. She 'prays' to Thor often, begging for him to listen to her and to take her back home. All her strength, fearlessness, and warrior ethos masks the pain she feels about being abandoned.
Side Note: In the original canon, she comes from a post-apocalyptic world. But since her father could have left at any time (rather than having been killed in the future war), it doesn't really have to be a post-apocalyptic setting for her to work. So I just removed the references to the Iron Manor and her adoptive brothers and said that she was born about thirty years earlier than she should have been. ^^;
