For the first time in what seems like a year, I wrote a poem that took time, and effort.

He stares into the vast expanse of sky,
Until he finds the perfect star to wish upon,
He's been alone in life for far too long,
And hopes someday this feeling'll be gone.

Someone else watches that star, not so far away,
A lonely girl lost in life with a broken heart,
There are so many things she wishes could change,
And as she thinks about it, doesn't know where to start.

So instead she decides to wish for love,
She hopes that it'll be a familiar face,
Some unknown feeling deep inside tells her,
That what you needs in an unexpected place.

One lonely night he found her in a bad state,
She explained how she'd wished for love that day,
How nothing she hoped for ever came true,
And that her dreams were wasting her life away.

He told her that he felt the exact same way,
That he'd slip into his dreams to leave it all behind,
Everything there was perfect and pain-free,
Until reality snapped back, it'd all been in his mind.

They looked into each others eyes and knew,
That somehow destiny and that star had brought them together,
And neither of them were ever lonely again,
Because they had each other from now until forever.

Where to begin. That poem started with an idea I've had in my head for a few years now, reitterated by some of the things that Paul and I talked about. Add in the idea of what you need being right under your nose and you've got Starstruck. It may be lame, but whatever.
