Kazuya thinks it’s silly. Childish, really; believing in something so ridiculous, something, magical(as if.).
He’s a realist; (a person who tends to view or represent things as they really are…) he doesn’t believe in neverlands or pixie dust. He certainly doesn’t believe in those stories that mothers tell their little children about magical worlds and beautiful princesses. He finds it all too preposterous really.
When he meets Jin, his world gets turned upside down.
Jin, is the total opposite. Jin lives in the clouds. He’s two years older physically; but twenty years younger mentally. (Or so Kazuya thinks.)
Jin believes in true love, fate, fairy tales and pixie dust. He likes the freedom he has; he’s impractical. He chases after his shadow, claiming it’s running away from him, he thinks pixie dust is all that it takes to get rid of the worries of the world. He says he’s going to solve world hunger, find world peace and become a better person than he already is. (He never finished high school. Kazuya thinks that’s why Jin is so carefree.)
Kazuya observes Jin, because that’s all he can do; he doesn’t admit he’s afraid of what might happen if he tries to talk to Jin. (Jin likes to lie on the grass and feel the Earth rotate. He’s a free spirited bird; he’s not afraid of change, he embraces it, lets it take control of him when he feels like it.)
Jin, likes watching Kazuya too. The younger man seems so well composed, and yet, so unraveled at the same time. It makes Jin wonder, what would happen if all that composure disappeared.
It takes Kazuya one thousand four hundred and sixty days to lose his composure, to talk to Jin. Its nerve wracking and calming, it’s all a confusing oxymoron of emotions that conflict with each other; never reaching a resolution…
…until Jin kisses him
It feels like most romance novels describe it. Small tingles shoot through his body, there’s fireworks, angels trumpets, beautiful music…everything that makes the world a beautiful place all thrown together into one small insignificant lip lock between two people.
When Jin pulls away, Kazuya sees something, something he hadn’t seen in the past four years. He sees freedom in Jin’s eyes; shiny and bright.
Kazuya initiates it this time, he pulls Jin forward, the older welcoming the kiss as they meld together into one being.
{Kazuya is a realist and impractical. He believes in fate. He believes in love. He’s a firm believer in reality. But, most importantly, he believes in Jin.}
