Damien Rice songs

So despite my suspicions about this format of self-expression, I've decided I need to vent more, and most of the people who read this are going to be important loved ones, so I probably wont be wasting my time...or something.

I caught myself dawdling in sadland tonight, not unusual by any means but a more poignant trip than I'm accustomed to. While reading in bed, "Cannonball" by Damien Rice came on, and it occurred to me that every major relationship I've been in ended ala Damien Rice's lyrics. One had strong similarities to "Delicate," of 'kissing when we are alone, When nobody's watching,' and "why do you sing Hallelujah, If it means nothing to you, Why do you sing with me at all?" Another was a "volcano," with its lyric "What I am to you is not real, What I am to you you do not need, What I am to you is not what you mean to me, You give me miles and miles of mountains And I'll ask for the sea." When "Cannonball" came on tonight, I started crying. It was so personal.

Still a little bit of your taste in my mouth
Still a little bit of you laced with my doubt
Still a little hard to say what's going on

Still a little bit of your ghost your witness
Still a little BIT of your face I haven't kissed
You step a little closer EACH DAY
Still I can't SAY what's going on

Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to lie
Life taught me to die
So it's not hard to fall
When you float like a cannonball

Still a little bit of your song in my ear
Still a little bit of your words I long to hear
You step a little closer TO ME
So close that I can't see what's going on

Bleh. Sleep, and happier thoughts await.
