Does anyone remember where exactly the "his doom is very long" thing is?

I'm pretty sure it's in reference to Turgon, and occurs shortly after a mention of his Staff of Doom.

I'm also pretty sure it's in one of the chapters I read in the Silmarillion-a-thon my senior year, because I remember being distracted by Robin and Steph giggling at it.

Hm, well the only mention of the Staff of Doom seems to be toward the end of the chapter on Maeglin, where Eol is being judged. But there's no mention of a doom being long there, only "my doom is law".
