Movin' on...Down?

After a week of boxes, boxes, heavy furniture, books, boxes, and boxes, I think Itsumi and I are moved in to Tuscaloosa. We love our apartment; for a one-bedroom, it's humongous, and we can actually store all of our crap. And we inherited my grandparents' awesome sofa and loveseat. I was so glad to get rid of our old Wal-Mart futon. Now I can actually sit and watch TV without a metal bar sticking up my ass.

But Comcast...may I say a word about Comcast without being censored by them? What an awful, awful corporation. I won't go into details now, but basically, I had to waste three days just sitting here in the apartment, with no TV or internet, mind you, waiting for Comcast to show up and connect the service that I arranged to have hooked up over a week before. And after three separate appointments, NO ONE showed up. I called; I ranted; I even cried (out of boredom), and no one would show up to my house, even though I had pre-paid my bill and was being charged for service I did not have. Finally, I rolled up my sleeves and tooled with the four cable outlets in my apartment myself and got my service working. Of course, I had to cover up a cable wire running across my living room; it still looks tacky, but at least I can watch the Olympics now.

So, if you are ever lucky enough to live in a town with competition among cable companies, for God's sakes, DO NOT CHOOSE COMCAST.
