It pretty much started when
toolheadjdg added me as a friend. Plus,
anne_jumps had always made political posts. Then the Democratic nominee race started and Howard Dean came along and I got so obsessed. It was totally out of character for me, but I loved it. Then he stepped out of the race and I was crushed and all we were left with was Kerry. I wasn't too thrilled about this, but what could I do? I of course supported him anyway. We still had to win. The months went by and I followed the campaigns. Finally election day came. I was so damn excited. I had so much hope that Kerry would win. I repeatedly refreshed the Yahoo page (couldn't put up with annoying news anchors) and finally it came down to Ohio and then everything stopped at 3 am. That was so agonizing. I barely got any sleep because I kept crying. Then the next day came, Kerry conceded, and I asked myself, "Dammit, why????" I can't recall ever being so angry about something. But all that is over. I grieved and now I'm going to move on. Bush made his bed and now he can lie in it.
Anyway, all of these events have gotten me very interested in politics. There's so much I want to learn and I find it all very exciting. Lots of things are on my mind. Let's see if they lead anywhere interesting.
