My World Youth Day rant part I

Jul 12, 2008 17:00

Ok, so I am in for religious freedom. People may believe all they like in what every crazed deity they want to believe in. Similarly, I don't care if they don't believe in anyone or anything... But World Youth Day makes my blood boil.

Firstly it should be called world Catholic youth day. it is just so arrogant that they feel they can include everyone else who is not a Catholic in their love-the-pope fest.

Secondly, why should those tax payers who aren't catholic foot part of the bill for this event? It is absolutely unfair.

Thirdly, it is really just the height of insensitivity to agree to give over our city to these people... and then get all the propaganda shoved down our throats.

This post was inspired by an article in the Australian newspaper: http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,24007255-601,00.html

my dears... this city has plenty of soul... I object to you implying otherwise. One of the reasons I like Sydney is that it is open minded, interesting, reasonably free thinking. And now, we have a plethora of closed minded auto-bots, who are giving it up for God... sheesh. Don't look at me so disapprovingly Cindy from Montana... your face might crack.

it also irks me that they are all so nice too. Blurgh. I think I may stay at home under the bed for the entire week they are here.

That, or put on a very revealing pan outfit and run around the streets handing out condoms and such... which I am sure some of the more outraged elements in the community will do.

I will try to find one positive... Um. Any suggestions..? heheh
