So, long story short, I got it because it was free with purchase with something else that I was going to get.
Yes, I still buy Kraft Mac'n'Cheese dinner, but it's because I can make it awesome (or I'm just highly susceptible to whatever drugs they put in that 'cheese' sauce to make you buy more), but this time it came with a free coupon for their "Easy Mac" variant.
Free? Why not. Besides, Easy Mac costs way more than classic prep.
Today, because I got up a little late and wanted to be productive, but not productive without food in me, I decided to give it a while. The package says "Ready in 3.5 minutes!", so it must be fast and convenient.
...
LIARS!!!
I can make better Mac'n'Cheese faster than this stuff! 3.5 minutes is enough time to give you piping hot cheese soup with noodles floating in it. You have to let it stand for at least 10 more minutes for it to be edible* at all, and I'm only sitting down here typing this so that it can try to be less of a bowl of fail and misery with each passing moment.
Ugh.
*slurp*
Okay, okay. It's not that bad ... now, but I had to wait 20 minutes for it to get there. Convenient would come in the form of it being part of a packed lunch, but only if you're willing to wait a good portion of your lunch break for it to be ready.
* YMMV
