Comments : This coming after I read my friend's note about library. To think that I always spend my whole day there, I decided to write something with library as the theme. I luv my univ’s library! *a nerd* XD
Here I am.
Still in the same library..
With the same foul smells of the old decayed books and wood.
Heads of people are enjoying themselves with the smells as they are walking through the book sections.
And here I am.
Still with the same flat atmosphere.
Wondering when you would come…
I can hear the clock ticking.
Tic toc tic toc tic toc…
Oh how boring. But who am I to complain?
Tap tap tap tap…
The sounds of light footsteps coming closer to where I am.
Ah, there you are…
You seem so tired, black circling around your puffy eyes and your bright blonde hair mussed up.
I wonder what you’d gone through last night.
Now here I am.
In the right side corner.
With the same person for the last three months.
With the same books coming from the medical section weighing on me.
Somehow I’m already used to the weight of the books and your hands.
Here I am still.
Watching you writing with a frown creasing your eyebrows. Flipping through the books carefully, searching for whatever you’re looking for.
Why am I feeling like I’m at peace?
Tic toc tic toc tic toc tic toc.
Ah, his eyes are fluttering.
I bet he’s sleepy. You could tell from the way he looks.
Thud!
His head suddenly falls and meets me. It must have hurt, I might be old but I’m still hard like new.
I feel sorry for you. Maybe if I had hands I could rub your head. Well, at least you don’t feel sleepy anymore, now do you?
Tic toc tic toc tic toc tic toc..
The clock is still ticking. And you’re still working.
It’s night already. You really are a hard worker aren’t you?
I wish I knew your name. Then I could yell at you and tell you to stop working this hard. You might get sick.
Me and worried have never been used in the same sentences before, but now we are because of you.
Here I am.
Shamelessly saying I am getting tired.
I may be just a desk, but I guess desks can feel tired too, no?
Thud! Thud!
The sound of books being closed.
Eh, did you hear what I just said? Did I make him angry with my words?
Oh my, I’m sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. So-
“Thank you for today too” he slowly caresses me.
Tic toc tic toc tic toc…
Did he… did he just say that to me?
…
Damn. If I was a human, I bet my face would look just like those silly girls who are falling in love. All red like tomatoes.
Tic toc tic toc tic toc.
It’s already far from closing time.
This place is so empty.
Tic toc tic toc tic toc…
Here I am still.
In this dull library.
But I love this library the most, because you’re here.
